Biography

About the artist

Janet trained as a textile designer at the now Manchester Metropolitan University and believes this greatly influences her painting work. She uses dyes for their vibrant and clean colour, and often uses other media, such as chalks and pastels, to achieve variations in surface texture. Several of Janet’s images have been used by greetings cards companies, and others are in corporate and museum collections. Janet is a lecturer in art and design, specialising in Textiles at a northern College of Further Education.
